ASID Designer Appellations
Professional Members
Professional members in ASID have completed a course of accredited education, and/or equivalent work experience in interior design, and successfully passed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) examination. These members have achieved the highest levels of accomplishment and knowledge in their field.
A professional member of ASID is the only member entitled to use the appellation without elaboration, e.g., John/Jane Doe, ASID (FASID if a fellow of the Society).
Allied Members
Allied members are comprised of practicing interior designers who have completed 40 semester or 60 quarter credit hours in interior design education from an accredited institution (university, college or technical school). They are identified by the following designation: John/Jane Doe, Allied Member ASID.
