Designer Profile

After completing a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University Charlyne acquired her first home - and knew immediately that her future would be in the field of Interior Design. Further studies led to seven years as an independent designer. In 1977, she founded Creekside Interiors in Lafayette CA. With a staff of highly qualified designers, Creekside soon became a well respected design studio.

In 1984, a move to San Francisco brought the transition to independent practice as Hermes Design. Now based in Carmel with regular access to San Francisco, design projects cover the San Francisco and Monterey Bay Areas with some as far afield as Hawaii and Boston. The Hermes Design style is always focused on timeless quality and comfortable livability with emphasis on personal expression. The philosophy is to work with each client to express those elements of taste and individuality which result in harmonious, often eclectic, and very personal homes that will never go out of style.
