ASID sponsors a wide range of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in varying lengths and topics, all of which are evaluated in accordance with strict IDCEC guidelines. You do not have to be an ASID member to receive CEU credit for these courses.
Effective Jan. 1, 2014, the CEU requirement will increase from 0.6 to 1.0 (i.e., 10 hours). Note that this does not affect the previous reporting period, requiring 0.6 CEUs by Dec. 31, 2013. The first reporting period with the new 1.0 CEU requirement will begin January 1, 2014 and end on Dec. 31, 2015.
Many of the states or provinces that have laws regulating the practice of interior design and/or the use of a title require continuing education as a condition of renewal. If you practice in one or more of these states or provinces, you should contact the appropriate state board or agency for information about specific requirements.
ASID is also expanding eligible CEUs making it easier to reach 1.0. Approved CEUs such as webinars and chapter events will continue, with the addition of activities such as authoring a book or article, keynote speaking engagements, receiving tenure and more. More information on extended CEUs will be available soon.
